The Wellness Inventory is the perfect program to help you institute a wellness focus in your private practices or medical center, create new profit centers, and help maintain positive relations with your patients. HealthWorld Online now offers a special program designed for health professionals, including nurses, social workers, physicians, PAs, and occupational therapists.
Teaching Your Patients to Be Well
According to Hippocrates, the father of western medicine, the primary role of the physician is as educator. However, in the fast-paced 21st century, health professionals rarely have time to devote to educating their patients in living a healthy lifestyle.
Over forty years ago a young resident in preventive medicine at Johns Hopkins had a flash of inspiration that would come to have a major impact on this problem. Dr. John W. Travis realized he wanted to focus, not on treating patients, but empowering people to be well. He subsequently helped to pioneer the modern wellness movement, opening the first wellness center in America in 1975, and creating the first wellness assessment —the Wellness Inventory, as a whole person intake for the center's clients.
Wellness Inventory is a "whole person" assessment program designed to help patients gain personal insight into their state of physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness. The program offers guidance and tools to transform this new awareness into lasting changes in their lives, and a renewed sense of health and wellbeing. And best of all, the program can be taken in the comfort of the patient's own home and you will have access to their scores (with their permission).
Benefits to Your Patients:
- Assessing their current level of "whole person" wellness.
- Determining the areas of their life they want to improve.
- Creating a personalized Wellness Action Plan to meet their specific goals.
- Resources to assist in meeting their goals.
- Email reminders motivate adherence to Wellness goals.
- Improved patient health and wellbeing.
Overall Benefits for Your Practice:
